Tue Nov 19
Mike Geffner’s Inspired Word, one of New York’s most popular indie performance series, presents Soundz & Vibez Off-Broadway.
The night features a mix of music and poetry:
Rapper Radheya and Singer Victoria Radheya is a father-daughter musical duo. Radheya is a corporate executive turned rapper. He speaks to the most important issues of our time, from geopolitics, to economics, to mental health. He draws inspiration from artists / activists such as The Last Poets, Gil Scott, Ice Cube, and Public Enemy. His daughter Victoria is a classically trained singer as well as a stage performer. She has starred in productions of The Music Man, Hook, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Her musical influences include Celine Dion, Ariana Grande, and Taylor Swift. Radheya and Victoria team up to deliver a high energy, engaging performance.

Sonya Pittalwala is a vocalist from Canada (Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton) who moved to New York City in August 2023. Her influences include classic greats like Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone but she also loves artists like Amy Winehouse. She is drawn to women who are apologetically powerful and who use their full authentic selves on and off stage. Be prepared to rewind the clock with classical jazz, but experience the power of the present with modern twists that are truly her own.
Cheretta Stewart aka Tea is a poet from BedStuy. With words steeped in emotion, Tea’s intentions are to open your mind by taking small moments in time inviting us to see them in a more robust and meaningful way. Tea began writing poetry to make sense of her world and expand not only her perspective, but that of others. Maya Angelou and Toni Morrison are just a couple of her literary influences. She also finds inspiration spending time out in Nature and finds joy in delving deeper into the mysteries of physics. Performing barefoot, she remains grounded in the present as she performs her art.
InspiredWordNYC was founded in 2009 by longtime New York City journalist Mike Geffner, who will host this night.
