The next step from blues to fusion will be the swinging guitar sounds of Rick Whitehead. A graduate of the US Air Force’s Airmen of Note big band, Mr. Whitehead was both a featured soloist and accompanist for many notable names in contemporary jazz music. The sound that definitively defines Washington, DC is swing guitar whether that swing be country (Roy Clark) big band (Paul Wingo) or jazzabilly (Danny Gatton). Together with John Previti, John Thomakos and Tommy Lepsom this will be an evening guaranteed to make and relive memories. The show will be preceded by a 30-minute guitar conversation with these two legendary guitarists reliving, reminiscing and tutoring together.
