Join us for another Mainstay Monday! These eclectic evenings happen every Monday night and are hosted by our own Joe Holt at the piano, partnering with a special guest. Each week is a unique, one of a kind show. Seating is casual and tables are available (bring your own dinner, if you like), along with a cash bar. Our featured guests tonight are the Washington College piano faculty, Dr. Matt Brower and Dr. Woobin Park.
Dr. Brower received his Doctoral and Masters ,,,degrees in Collaborative Piano from the University of Michigan and and Bachelors ,,,degree in Piano Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. In addition to being a classical pianist, Matts versatility spans numerous genres, including jazz. In this special 2 piano Mainstay Monday, Matt will join Joe to meld classical and jazz, along with performing familiar jazz standards. ,,
Dr. Park earned the Master of Music degree and Performers Diploma from Indiana University Bloomington and Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She has appeared throughout the United States and Korea with concerts in New York, Boston, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, St. Paul, Indianapolis, Washington D.C, Houston, and Baltimore with various types of solo and chamber recitals as well as in collaboration with renowned symphony orchestras. Tonight, with Joe as the accompanying ",Orchestra,", Woobin performs George Gershwins Rhapsody In Blue , in its orginal setting for two pianos.
