A dynamic lead bass player from Kansas City, bassist Julian Vaughn has become a major player in the contemporary jazz genre. Vaughn got his start-playing bass in his grandfather’s church at the in Kansas City. As an artist, he debut on the scene in 2010 with his CD titled “The Purpose Project” an album that would later pave the way to his 2012 album “Breakthrough” which set the tone for his latest album titled “Limitless” in 2015. Vaughn has worked with the NLBM in Kansas City since 2012 doing concerts and appearances with a portion of proceeds going towards the NLMB Museum. Vaughn has had a total of 2 number 1 Billboard hits and a total of 5 top 10 singles. His hits included singles “On Your Feet” off his second album “Breakthrough” and “Ride Along” off his recent album release “Limitless”. Vaughn has been able to take his talents abroad the US into countries like Dubai, Africa, Italy, and Germany thus far in his early career. Vaughn’s much anticipated new album “Limitless” which was released April 21, 2015 has already made an anticipated splash by debuting on the US Billboard album sales chart at #6. Vaughn stays current on industry trends but doesn’t try to write every song to fit the radio format. “I know what flavor works in the music industry but I don’t write all my material based on that. I write from my heart.Whatever is moving me at the moment is what dictates the end. I want to make music for the people not format, said Vaughn.“ Music is my everything that’s why I love doing what I do,” he said.
