Colibri Evelyn Petcher, violin
Hannah Mindeman, piano
Colibri is a dynamic violin-piano duo, the culmination of fifteen years of musical collaboration between violinist Evelyn Petcher and pianist Hannah Mindeman. Ms. Petcher and Ms. Mindeman began playing together in high-school and performed often in a piano trio and as a duo during their undergraduate years at Covenant College. They are native to the Chattanooga, TN area and have played a number of concerts there, including a benefit which they organized for the local Red Cross after a series of devastating tornadoes in April 2011. They enjoy performing a wide variety of composers from Baroque to contemporary, and bringing out historical and musical themes through their programs. Now beginning its third season as a professional duo, Colibri has appeared in concert at the University of Arkansas and the DiMenna Center for Classical Music in New York City, and were featured on the guest artist series at John Brown University in March 2017. Ms. Petcher and Ms. Mindeman enjoy performing in the community as well as on stage, from public spaces like the Fayetteville, AR public library to private house concerts like Groupmuse NYC. Both committed educators, Ms. Petcher & Ms. Mindeman enjoy giving workshops alongside their concerts - such as their concert preview for elementary students at the Youth Orchestra of St. Luke’s after school program in New York, and career seminar for college students following their John Brown University concert.
