Born to a musical family in Fayetteville, N.C., Mitchell-Bell was influenced by Nancy Wilson, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughn and Phyllis Hyman. Since 2016, she has worked closely with pianist and Music Director Vince Evans. She has been a favorite at the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival, City Winery and Westminster Jazz Night and set attendance records at Cafe Mezzanotte in Severna Park and Jazz at the Mural in Cambridge, Maryland. She has also appeared at The Kennedy Center, the Preservation Jazz Festival and the Sheldon Cultural Center in St. Louis.
In 2018 she released Stronger Than Ever, including standards from the Great American Songbook and R&B hits backed by an 11-piece orchestra. The indie album enjoyed 12 weeks on the Roots Music Report’s Top 50 Jazz Chart, peaking at #12.

Vince Evans has enjoyed a multi-faceted career as a musician, producer and educator working with such names as Prince, Phyllis Hyman, Al Jarreau, George Benson, Eddie Murphy, MC Hammer, Jonathan Butler, Bill Withers, Gerald Albright and Luther Vandross. Their band also features drummer Jc Jefferson, bassist Eric Glaser, guitarist Alvin White and saxophonist Paul Carr.
