A 24 year recording career has seen Romance Jazz architect CHIP SHELTON carve out a new sub genre in jazz. It is grounded much deeper in the human experience than similarly-titled musics about creating a mood for love making.
“Romance Music”, as described by the Oxford Dictionary of Music “implies a specially personal and tender quality”. Chip Shelton’s Romance Jazz goes further, incorporating unique instrumentation, original compositions, arrangements, and lyrics focusing on meaningful life-themes.
This Mother’s Day at Twins the NYC based ensemble will feature Noriko Kamo-organ, piano, Sipho Kunene- drums, and Chip Shelton- Eb sopranino sax, Bb flute d’amour, piccolo, percussion, & vocals.
