World jazz featuring Dave Kline on electric violin with special guests
"I love your musical universe...it's so fresh and creative." Chick Corea
An electric violinist and composer, his album Shifting Borders hit the #1 spot for 16 weeks on the Roots Music jazz chart. Dave has performed with artists as diverse as Chick Corea, Dwight Yoakum and Stephane Wrembel.
Dave’s British roots and immersion in world cultures have resulted in his ability to shift musical genres seamlessly. Sold out shows at Blues Alley, DC’s premier jazz club, and concerts at Strathmore, Gypsy Sally’s, and many DC area festivals including the National Mall have cemented his reputation for riveting performances with striking melodies and intense rhythms.
Following his November residency at Blues Alley, collaborating with national and international talent, Dave returns on April 6th for two shows at 7pm and 9pm, featuring special guest artists including Lynn Veronneau and Ken Avis.
“Beyond jazz, but with definite grasp of its core ideals, and able to swing and groove with the best of them.” — Michael J. West, Washington City Paper
“Violinist Dave Kline is pushing the contemporary voice of strings to new heights, while maintaining a sophisticated yet approachable city sound... assertively bending the borders of undiscovered territory with great result.”— Geannine Reid, All About Jazz
“Kline himself bows with a rich vibrato and melodicism like a modern Stephane Grappelli. This is a guy to check out in concert.”— George W. Hams, Jazz Weekly
