Butterfly Haus is a Brooklyn-based indie-alternative music project of New Jersey-born Nigerian-American producer, songwriter and recording artist Osaze Akerejah. Though Akerejah has been making original music since the late 2000’s the initial idea for the Butterfly Haus project was first birthed in 2019, finally coming to fruition in 2022 after a period that saw him simultaneously battle heartbreak, a cancer diagnosis and mental/physical health struggles. His lyrics revolve around introspection, identity exploration, love, mental health, and life’s peaks and valleys. These themes are married to eclectic production rooted in indie rock, alternative pop, hip-hop elements, and fragments of 70’s/80’s new wave, creating a seamless and dynamic blend that traverses sonics of the past, present and future.
