“This is one of the best trios I have heard. They swing hard without imitating anyone and have created their own unique sound”...Scott Harper, jazz host Aspen Jazz Radio
"Pianist Lenore Raphael has absorbed the hard swinging style of Oscar Peterson and her ballads are reminiscent of the harmonies of Bill Evans, but she has created her own sound withough imitating anyone.”...John Kelman, ALLABOUTJAZZ
"Bassist Hilliard Greene, a man whose style is deeply rooted in African music. He is an energetic player who slabs the corpus of his bass, but also caresses the instrument with his bow. He seems to merge with it, and pushes his fellow musicians to unknown realms”...Martin Schray, Free Jazz collective
"With vibraphonist Steve Hobbs instances of profound eloquence and stunning chops abound"...Ed Enright, Down Beat magazine. “For a long time Hobbs has been one of the most talented and underrated vibraphonists around"...Scott Yanow, Jazz Times magazine.
Jazz pianist/ Steinway artist and radio host, Lenore Raphael has long been an admirer of the music of pianist Oscar Peterson. She has absorbed much of his style and put together a tribute show which she has performed in top jazz venues internationally to rave reviews. Meeting the great vibraphonist Steve Hobbs inspired the two to put together their Modern Jazz Quartet tribute and adding the great bassist Hilliard Greene, the trio brings their own interpretation and style to the great standards. In 2020 they sold out these concerts in California and Florida.
