Two Emmy Awards and collaborations with Questlove and The Roots including a show at Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall are just a sampling of composer and pianist D.D. Jackson’s accomplishments. Jackson has a long track record as an artist to watch in the worlds of jazz, classical and beyond and his albums have netted him a Juno Award and six nominations. Jackson’s expansive portfolio also includes music composition for theater, opera, orchestra and dance, in styles ranging from fiery solo works to large-scale orchestrations.
Grammy winning jazz saxophonist David Murray covers a panorama of musical territory, from mainstream jazz to his performance with the Grateful Dead at Madison Square Garden. Murray was a founding member of the World Saxophone Quartet. Awards include; Village Voice Musician of the Decade, the Bird Award, a Grammy Award in the Best Jazz Instrumental Group Performance category for Blues for Coltrane: A Tribute to John Coltrane, the Danish Jazzpar Prize and Newsday Musician of the Year.
