Wed May 2
Jacie Lee Almira (vocals) Born and raised in Queens NY, she began singing at an early age; her first stage experience was at 10-years old at the church lectern leading the congregation in song. She studied voice and performed in NYC before moving to NoVA in 2004. After spending some time raising a family, she returned to music. To hone her craft, she continued her vocal training, namely with consummate jazz vocalist, Sharón Clark. Jacie is lead vocals of JC & The Lava Lamps, an acoustic folk jazz and blues ensemble, and she is also a featured singer with Geno & The Spirit of Jazz, a smooth jazz/neo-soul band. Most recently, she lends her voice to original recordings by local singer/songwriters. With these groups and with other area musicians she performs regularly in the DMV area. Jacie is an emerging artist with a captivatingly heartfelt and torchy style that complements the music of jazz, soul and blues.
She will be joined by Sammy Munguia (piano) and David Jernigan (bass, guitar).
