ELEW

Jazz pianist ELEW celebrates Duke Ellington's 125th birthday with us, bringing the music of Duke and those whom he influenced, including his own compositions to Decatur House Museum in Washington, DC.

ELEW is a first prize winner of the Thelonious Monk competition. He has  performed regularly with Wynton Marsalis & the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Elvin Jones, Cassandra Wilson, Roy Hargrove, and John Hendricks among countless others. He thereafter began fusing his piano techniques with rock guitar-based ideas and experimental prepared piano methods, generating a powerful
crossover brand he coined “RockJazz”. While winning multiple awards,  ELEW has re-imagined songs by The Killers, Nirvana, Coldplay and Michael Jackson, to name a few.

ELEW has further established himself as  DJ, performing at  The World Economic Forum, TED, Art Basel, A-list Oscar events, the Monte-Carlo Gala, and the Cannes Film Festival. ELEW places the turntables within the piano, seamlessly executing transitions and improvisations, a format that he calls Piano Turntablism.
