Mike Geffner's Inspired Word

Mike Geffner’s Inspired Word, one of New York’s most popular indie performance series,
presents Soundz & Vibez.

The night features a mix of music and poetry:

Brooklyn-based singers Justice Roes and Lindsay Krasna, making their second appearance at the Triad, are self-taught guitarists brought together by music, fine wine and good friends. They began by casually jamming but quickly expanded into a harmonizing acoustic duo, eventually naming themselves after the names of their guitars, Kitty and Gelisa. Justice is a trained first soprano with a degree in musical theatre who studied music at Bowie and Towson University and was part of the University choir. She also sings professionally with a wedding band. Lindsay performed with her college acapella group, The Touchtones, and lists Joni Mitchell, Jewel, and the Indigo Girls as her major influences. They will be accompanied by drummer Nancy Luduena.

Another Triad alum, Guy Simoneau is a singer/songwriter in his sixties - a testament to the enduring spirit of folk-rock music. With a career spanning four decades from Maine to California and now, New York City, Guy’s songwriting echoes the heartfelt storytelling of Tom Petty and the lyrical prowess of Bob Dylan. His acoustic guitar is an extension of his soul, weaving melodies to resonate across generations. With a knack for ad-libbing to keep the rhymes and cadence just right, Guy’s set list is a rollercoaster of life’s ups and downs, sprinkled with his love for NYC and amazing friends.

Annabelle is a singer/songwriter based in Manhattan. Drawing influence from a powerhouse lineup of female artists from Olivia Rodrigo's raw emotion to Avril Lavigne's edgy, rock n' roll, Annabelle and her band craft a sound that's both energetic and deeply personal -- a blend where girl-pop meets garage-rock energy. This year she released "Comparison," "Traumablind," and "Clockwork," three singles showcasing her maturing artistry and knack for catchy melodies. She frequently collaborates with Nashville's renowned writer development organization, Songhouse. This collaborative environment has fostered her songwriting talents, contributing to her growing portfolio. Her captivating performance of "Go Find It" on Songhouse's social media platforms garnered an impressive 265K+ views, showcasing her undeniable talent and stage presence.

Kelly Lynn Noll is a poet born and raised in Queens, but now lives in Connecticut. Though a poet at heart, Noll has also been involved in many theatre productions over the years, wearing many hats as a performer, director and producer. Some of her shows have run at the Off-Broadway Comedy Club, and at Playwrights Downtown. In her poetry you will see her passion for philosophy, her personal ups and downs, as well as her relationship to nature, God, religion and (un)requited love. Reading her work is like watching her grow up, all through the lens of her autistic-mind.

InspiredWordNYC was founded in 2009 by longtime New York City journalist Mike Geffner, who will host this night.
