Funkateers Ball
Funkateers Ball 2024 is dedicated to the memory of the event's founder George H. Darden II who we lost earlier this year. We are proud to continue his legacy with live musical performances featuring P-Funk royalty Garrett "Starchildjr" Shider and Mike "Kidd Funkadelic" Hampton with the all-star funk ensemble Grooveallegiance! Special guest stars are virtuoso guitarist Marcus Machado and acclaimed singer Yazarah St. James. Also DJ Lance Reynolds and MC Tony Camm.
Funkateers Ball is a much anticipated annual event presented with the Chocolate City Alliance celebrating the music, style and culture of Parliament-Funkadelic. This year is the 50th anniversary of two memorable albums and songs "Up For The Down Stroke" by Parliament and "Standing On The Verge of Getting It On" by Funkadelic which will be performed live along with many more classic P-Funk jams as well as the next generation of funk music!
Enjoy an evening of great live music and share the experience with Funkateers from the DC area and all across the nation and the world. Wear your funkiest attire or just come as you are to join the party, feel the vibe and get down on the dance floor!
