Explore the World of Sparkling Wine…Anytime!
While sparkling wine and Champagne are often synonymous celebrations only, their versatility make them worthy of everyday enjoyment. Sparkling wine is one of the three types of wine in the world (the other two being table and fortified) and maybe the most the most underappreciated. In this eye-opening class, we will start with the Champagne region in France, the benchmark of quality and pedigree. While many enthusiasts stop there, there are many more wonderful examples and styles of sparkling wine from around the world; from Cremant in Alsace to northern Italy’s Prosecco and Franciacorta to Napa and Sonoma’s expressive sparkling wines to Spain’s versatile Cava. We will explore them all and leave you primed with what is special about each and how they can and should be integrated into our daily wine appreciation.
