Remarkable Riesling…Old World vs New World
If there is a grape varietal that is perfectly suited for Spring/Summer enjoyment, it is the noble varietal, Riesling. Its searing acidity and laser intensity of flavor create a tension that produces vibrant and compelling white wines that dance on your palate. In this not to be missed class, we will explore the regions, Old and New World, that produce Riesling at the highest and most compelling level. In the Old World, we will start in Germany, its place of origin and site of its greatest expression, as well as its neighboring Alsace. We will then explore wonderful New World regions such as the Finger Lakes and the Clare Valley in Australia. After this class, you will see the different styles of wine that can be produced from this one amazing grape varietal.
