Andromeda turre is an award winning jazz performer and composer, deeply rooted in the genre through her family and mentors like Dizzy Gillespie, Max Roach, and Wynton Marsalis. She honed her craft at the Boston conservatory and Berklee college of music, specializing in theater and vocal performance.
Turre’s talents have taken her around the world, performing with Ray Charles, Jon Faddis, Michael Bublé as well as headlining jazz festivals in 17 countries as a solo artist. Known for her immersive musical experiences, she has captivated audiences globally.
An accomplished composer, andromeda’s original works are featured in film, television, and video games. She is renowned for addressing themes of societal impact and spirituality in her compositions. She has composed the score and 13 original songs for Lena: lessons from a lady, a musical about the life of Lena Horne, and is sought after for curating bespoke music experiences for corporate events. Her roles as artistic director for central park’s annual juneteenth celebrations and music supervisor for aquila theater’s adaptation of the great gatsby showcase her ability to create unforgettable experiences.
Committed to using her art for positive change, her latest project from the earth is a programmatic jazz suite illuminating environmental justice and the interconnected relationship between humans and the earth. The from the earth album will be released on july 26, 2024. An educational gallery exhibit inclusive of art, photography, sculpture, video, guided meditation and more was created in tandem with the project to further its goal of connecting communities and inspiring climate action. With each performance of the from the earth suite, local environmental organizations from the performance community are invited to set up information booths and introduce their initiatives on stage. This collaboration connects the audience directly to actionable climate solutions in their area. She continues to tour internationally, sharing her powerful voice and expertise in jazz.
