Rick Whitehead/guitar with John Previti on bass and Bruce Swaim on tenor sax open jazz guitar series with a collective improvisation!
Originally from Miami Florida, Rick Whitehead came to the DC area as guitarist and featured soloist for the usaf band’s “airmen of note”. In 1991,after 22yrs with the band ,he retired from the air force and started working locally. Rick was always a fan of Washington and decided to stay in the DC area .
Since that time ,he has performed with the “Rick Whitehead trio, with John Previti and Barry Hart” on 3 cd’s and produced “guitaristic” with Charlie Byrd as special guest. He also released a solo CD “note’s from home, solo jazz guitar”
He continues to work in the area both playing and teaching jazz guitar at Shenandoah University and George Mason University.
