Inaugural Mainstay Music Scholarship winner guitarist Zack Lambert returns to The Mainstay with his newly formed jazz quartet!
Zach Lambert began his journey with the guitar when he was nine-years-old, and he began playing professionally in 2017. From rock and funk, to pit orchestras and jazz, Zach has become a well-rounded and versatile guitarist. As of 2019, he has played over 200 gigs in a variety of bands and settings around Annapolis and Baltimore, Maryland, including local and regional festivals, charity events, club gigs, church services, and theater productions.
In the spring of 2018, Zach became the inaugural winner of The Mainstay Rock Hall Scholarship and then had the opportunity to sit in with Frank Vignola at The Mainstay later that year. He began 2019 by joining saxophonist John Thomas on stage at The Mainstay. Zach is currently studying Jazz and Commercial Guitar Performance at Towson University. He recently was awarded the Semper Fidelis Award for Musical Excellence and the Woody Herman Jazz Award. He is also a certified teacher for the Warrior Music Foundation and teaches private lessons.
The Zach Lambert Quartet will provide an energetic performance at The Mainstay, as they bring a wide variety of songs from classics artists like Charlie Parker to contemporary acts like Snarky Puppy. Members of the quartet include:
Mike Paxton has played saxophone since 4th grade in both school and church. He is active in orchestras, jazz bands, and classical music ensembles. Mike is currently a junior at Towson University studying jazz saxophone.
Brendan Brady is a drummer who lives in Baltimore, Maryland, and studies jazz drum set at Towson University. He plays in many university ensembles including the Towson Jazz Orchestra. Brendan can also be found gigging frequently around the Baltimore/DC area with multiple bands of many genres.
Warren Louie is a senior in high school who plays both electric and the upright bass. He has performed in school ensembles, including All-County and All-State Jazz Band. Warren also has experience playing out in various jazz and pop groups. He plans to go to college for music.
