In 2006 New York, Foster sets out on the town for a night out with friends. He ends up in a stranger’s home. And splattered on the New York City asphalt.
Ten years later Foster sets out on the town once more - to find out what happened that night.
We follow Foster navigate the New York City terrain as he begins to understand his trajectory juxtaposed to queer history, societal constructs - and as per the New York City Police Department - What Happens To Boys In Chelsea.
Ryan F. Casey is thrilled to perform What Happens To Boys In Chelsea with direction by William Alexander Runnels on June 30th - as it is the 54th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots - the movement that began the fight for LGBTQ+ Rights here in New York City. If it was not for our sisters and brothers who threw down before us, Ryan would not be here today to tell the tale of Foster Lawrence; the boy who fell from the Chelsea sky. The Gay Boi who takes to the New York City streets for a reckoning.
After the performance there will be a brief discussion about the work with Ryan and William.
Ryan will also perform a short selection from their new work, Pandemic Faggotry.
