The 120-voice New Dominion Chorale presents Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, a lively celebration of springtime love, fickle fortune, and the joys of the hunt. Poems from a 13th century manuscript come to emphatic life in this modern song cycle, with percussion, dual pianists Thomas Pandolfi and Frank Conlon, renowned soloists Tess Ottinger, Allan Palacios Chan, and Collin Power, New Dominion Chorale, the Langley HS Madrigals, and guest conductor Casey Cook. The concert also features selections from Johannes Brahms’ Liebeslieder Waltzes—passionate, funny, and wry love songs for your spring afternoon. This sparkling program was arranged by New Dominion Chorale's Founder and Artistic Director for 35 years, Thomas Beveridge.
The concert is Sunday, April 26, 4 p.m., at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center on NOVA’s Alexandria campus, 4915 East Campus Drive.
