Thu May 9
Have you ever wondered what it is about the gays and their special connection to their “divas?”
From Barbra Streisand to Judy Garland, Doris Day to Aretha Franklin, Peggy Lee to Mae West—these women have been mother, sister, fairy godmother, and alter ego to queer people and their once closeted selves.
NYC-based drag queen and self-taught pop culture historian, Zelda Garment, makes her long-anticipated return to the Triad Theatre, this time bringing along her drag family, Gloria Swansong and Maxie Factor.
Come experience an evening of diva worship where we make no promise to get to the heart of what that “Rainbow Connection” is between the queers and their divas, but instead provide an evening of glamour, joy, and fierce love for the women who shaped us.
Maybe, in the end, we will find what’s on the other side of the rainbow.
