No need to head out to San Francisco for a Labor Day weekend show. Just point your compass toward Rock Hall, where the Chesapeake Bay meets paradise.
On Sunday, September 6 at 4:00 PM, The Mainstay invites Parrotheads, boaters, beach lovers, and anyone who enjoys great music and good company to our Second Annual Jimmy Buffett Tribute featuring The Singing Captains and Friends on our outdoor stage under the big tent.
Last year's event drew one of the largest crowds in Mainstay history, and we're expecting another unforgettable afternoon of island favorites, sing-alongs, and tropical fun. Better yet, every dollar raised helps support one of Maryland's oldest and most treasured nonprofit listening rooms.
This year's crew welcomes the return of a very special guest, Trinidadian steel drum virtuoso Trevor Stubbs of Island Vibes, whose authentic Caribbean sound will transport you straight to Margaritaville without ever leaving the Eastern Shore. Also joining us will be Don Gill on harmonica and Greg Burrows on drums.
Of course, no Buffett celebration would be complete without a few island-inspired refreshments. We'll be serving specially priced Margaritas and ice-cold Corona beer, along with the legendary Cheeseburgers in Paradise, lovingly prepared by Mike and the crew from That Place on Main. If that doesn't put you in an island state of mind, we're not sure what will. We also learned a few things from last year's record crowd and have added additional beverage service to help keep the lines short and the island spirits high.
Since Labor Day weekend also marks the unofficial finale of another Chesapeake boating season, we're dedicating the afternoon as Boater's Appreciation Day. Whether you arrive by land or by sea, drop anchor, grab a cold drink, and celebrate another wonderful summer on one of America's premier boating destinations.
Admission is just a $10 suggested donation, although, as Jimmy might have said, if the spirit moves you, we'll gladly accept a little more. Every contribution helps keep outstanding live music thriving at The Mainstay throughout the year.
So gather your crew, dust off your Hawaiian shirt, break out the flip-flops, and prepare for an afternoon filled with great music, laughter, and perhaps a few stories that get better with every chorus.
Whether you're a lifelong Parrothead or simply looking for a wonderful way to spend Labor Day weekend, you'll discover that paradise might be right here in Rock Hall.
Come Sunday, it'll be alright. Bring friends. Sing loudly.
After all... it's five o'clock somewhere.
