The Brown Street Maker Guitar Series launches seasoon one with the brilliant New York-based John  Merrill, a jazz guitarist with a career spanning three decades, five continents and hundreds of live appearances. He has performed worldwide at major jazz clubs and international festivals.  John’s collaborations include a Who’s Who of major jazz artists. John tours extensively with Professor Cunningham and His Old School, a virtuoso ensemble that wows listeners in many corners of the world. The band’s work is well documented on a series of acclaimed albums.

John  is also notable for his extensive work with Lincoln Center’s Jazz for Young People program.  With this opportunity to play concerts at schools all over New York City, John has been able to share his love and knowledge of music with students of all ages.
