This All-Star Quartet has earned renown as a one of the most exciting organ combos on the scene. Equally formidable on the piano and the Hammond B3 organ, Mike LeDonne made his reputation in the 1990s as an ace accompanist touring and recording with jazz legends such as Milt Jackson, Sonny Rollins, Bobby Hutcherson, and Benny Golson. He started establishing himself on the B3 around the turn of the century, announcing his arrival as a major new voice with 2004’s Smokin' Out Loud (Savant), a session featuring the band performing at the JHL.
Ralph Moore’s passion and life-long study of the tenor sax can be felt in his music, earning him the Lenny Johnson Memorial Award for outstanding musicianship. He has played and recorded music with an amazing list of musicians like Dizzy Gillespie, Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard, Ray Brown, Roy Haynes, J.J. Johnson, Cedar Walton, Bobby Hutcherson, McCoy Tyner, Roy Hargrove, Oscar Peterson, Kenny Baron to name a few.
Whether you’ve heard guitarist Dave Stryker leading his own group (with 30 CD’s as a leader to date), or as a featured sideman with Stanley Turrentine, Jack McDuff, and many others, you know why the Village Voice calls him “one of the most distinctive guitarists to come along in recent years.” Hot House magazine awarded him Best Guitarist Fans Decision for 2017. He was recently voted once again as one of the top Jazz Guitarists in the 2019 Downbeat Critics and Readers Polls for the 10th time.
Affectionately known as the “Jazz Maniac,” Kenny Washington has been renowned as one of the most enlightened and proficient performers and teachers of the art of jazz drumming for quite some time. Arriving on the scene in 1977, Washington has been in constant demand and has performed and recorded with many legendary artists including Lee Konitz, Betty Carter, Johnny Griffin, Dizzy Gillespie, Clark Terry, George Cables, Benny Goodman, Lionel Hampton, Sonny Stitt, James Spaulding, Phil Woods, Bill Charlap, Ahmad Jamal, Lena Horne, Tony Bennett, Milt Jackson, Bobby Watson, Curtis Lundy, and, Tommy Flanagan, to name a few.
