Aaron Rimbui is a piano savant who unleashes a transcendent fusion of virtuosic jazz and pulse-pounding East African rhythm, leaving audiences breathless and utterly transformed. He has released 4 albums and is the winner of the 2018 Mzantsi Jazz Award for Best International Collaboration Album for his album, Kwetu. He has been nominated for multiple awards including All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) in 2022 for Best Male Artiste in East Africa and a second nomination in 2023 by Soundcity MVP in their biggest category, Song of the Year for his work on Bald Men Love Better with Bien-Aime Baraza of Sauti Sol. He has opened concerts for the legendary Hugh Masekela, Grammy Award winner Richard Bona, and shared the stage with Bobi Wine and Tiwa Savage, as well as been featured in Kirk Whalum’s global collaboration Humanité and in Spike Lee’s Netflix series She’s Gotta Have It. His fingers are weapons of mass creation, forged through a childhood of unimaginable survival, turning trauma into spine-tingling, sublime fire with every keystroke.
