Corcoran Holt is a Washington, D.C.–born bassist, composer, arranger, and educator whose roots span West African percussion and jazz tradition. A graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory and Queens College, he has performed worldwide with artists including Kenny Garrett, Benny Golson, and Roy Hargrove. A 2009 Thelonious Monk Bass Competition semi-finalist and U.S. State Department Jazz Ambassador, Holt has worked as an educator with Jazz at Lincoln Center since 2010. He is Assistant Professor of Jazz Bass at Arizona State University and served as Artist-in-Residence for the DC Jazz Festival.
