Tribute to Musiq Soulchild & D'Angelo

"I Love R&B” A Tribute to Musiq Soulchild & D'Angelo featuring Jamaal Whittington

Performing all your favorite songs like "So Beautiful", "Buddy", "LOVE", "Just Friends", "Half Crazy"," LADY", "Cruisin”, "Brown Sugar" and many more!

Musiq Soulchild is one of the most influential R&B singers of his generation. Weaned on Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and Donny Hathaway, Musiq pioneered the "neo-soul" movement of the early millennium. Musiq went from signing on the street corners of Philadelphia in the late go's, to landing a big record deal with Def Jam in 2000: ushering in a new age sound of his own.

D'Angelo established himself as an unwitting founder and leading light of the late-'90s neo-soul movement, which aimed to bring the organic flavor of classic R&B back to the hip-hop age. Modeling himself on the likes of Marvin Gaye, Prince, Curtis Mayfield, and Al Green, D'Angelo exhibited his inspirations not only with his vocal style -- albeit with a stoned yet emotive twist all his own -- but also wrote his own material, and frequently produced it, helping to revive the concept of the all-purpose R&B auteur.

Kenneth Jamaal Whittington, better known as Jamaal, is a multidisciplinary vocalist, songwriter, and musician from Baltimore, Maryland. He launched a career providing background vocals for several mainstream gospel artists, appearing on multiple records, and touring nationally and internationally. In 2017, Jamaal was featured on a single from Charles Butler and Trinity’s third project, which debuted #2 in the gospel charts. Today, Jamaal continues to create music that resonates with listeners worldwide, including records – “Gone,” “Better for Me (written and produced by the late Micah Smith),” “R&B,” and his newest record, “Brand New”.
