Dr. Javier Nero is an award-winning trombonist, composer, arranger, and educator in the DC, Maryland, Virginia area (DMV). At the Peabody Institute, Dr. Nero teaches the jazz trombone studio, arranging, harmony, ear training, graduate composition, and has also previously directed the Peabody Jazz Ensemble. Dr. Nero holds the lead trombone position in the United States Army Band Pershing’s Own, “US Army Blues”, musicians enlisted to perform Jazz at the highest level for the American people.

Dr. Nero is the also the bandleader of the Javier Nero Jazz Orchestra. His compositions have also been performed by the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, Titus Burgess, Veronica Swift, Ashley Pezzotti, as well as Carnegie Hall’s NYO Program, among many others. The JNJO will be releasing its sophomore album “Alkebulan” on March 20th, 2026 on Outside in Music featuring Grammy Award-winning vocalist Nicole Zuraitis, Veronica Swift, and many others.

Starting in June, Keystone Korner Baltimore will be returning to assigned seating for most of our shows. You will be able to select the exact table or bar seat where you want to sit, and choose between Regular or Premium seating. Please check out our seating chart on our website to see the differences in the seating. The price of the tickets/seating you select will vary depending on the artist. In order for customers to be seated and served properly, it is very important that audience members arrive a minimum of 30 minutes before showtime. For guests joining us for a full dinner and show, we strongly recommend arriving 45-60 minutes before showtime. Doors open at 5pm Tuesday-Thursday, and 4pm Friday-Sunday. For our more popular shows, shared seating is required. Our Streaming Passes provide access to BOTH SETS from each night and remain available for 72 hours after the start of the show.
