Jewels of the Mediterranean: Sicily and Greece
While each country shares the same passion and approach to wine as a natural partner to food, the selection and style of both white and red wines are uniquely different. Indigenous varietals are what each country is known for, the expression of terroir is unmistakable. Sicily has exploded on the wine scene in the last 5 -10 years elevating wine quality and bringing us beautiful whites from the Grecchetto and Grillo grape and sensuous reds from Nero d’Avola and Nerello Muscalese. Same for Greece; the vibrant, and intense whites from Assyrtiko and Moscofilero are so refreshing and the reds from Xinomavaro and Agiorgitiko and a must for the wine lover who loved rich reds. In addition, these wines are great for Summer grilling, both fish and meats.
