Park Loop & Celebration

Join us for a celebration of the 75th anniversary of the completion of Edaville Railroad in South Carver, Massachusetts. Edaville’s golden spike ceremony was in April 1947. Edaville was one of the first heritage railroads in the United States. Event hours will be Saturday 11am-5pm, and Sunday 11am-4pm.

We are offering four levels of tickets. Double headed 5pm train tickets are $75 a person (Saturday only). Old Main line tickets behind #3 are $50 a person. A two day pass to the event and a steam train ride on the park loop is $30 a person. A one day pass to the event and a steam train ride on the park loop is $20 for adults, and $15 for children under 18 years of age. Children under 3 years of age are free with purchase of an adult ticket. (PLEASE NOTE:this is a celebration of the two foot gauge railroad history at Edaville. The amusement park will be closed for this event, therefore rides and Thomas will NOT be running)

Featured will be steam excursions using original Edaville Railroad steam locomotive #3 (courtesy of the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad). #3 will be operating on the remaining portions of the original main line, which is seldom used. #3’s train will depart the station at 12pm and 2pm each day, embarking on an approximately 1-hour and 45-minute trip into history. Tickets are $50 per person.

Operating a second train starting at 11:30, will be Edaville steam locomotive #11, making frequent departures throughout the day on a shorter 2-mile-long journey. The last park loop train will depart at approximately 3:15. All ticket holders have access to excursions with #11. Included with your ticket will also be same day access to other activities and displays on the grounds. Activities and displays include a slideshow presentation of Edaville throughout the years, presentations on Edaville’s historic and unique signal system, live steam engines, model railroad layouts, and antique equipment such as trucks, tractors, and cars. Food will also be available for purchase onsite.

Saturday evening will feature a double headed steam special on the original main line using #3 & #11. This special will depart at 5pm and return at approximately 7pm. Tickets for the 5pm double headed evening steam special are $75 per person.

All trips will have at least one photo stop per trip (possibly more depending on available time). At each photo stop, passengers will be allowed to disembark from the train and take a photo of this special event. All ticketholders will also receive a special, suitable for framing, commemorative ticket upon arrival.
