Patrick Cooper is an internationally acclaimed pianist, producer, and songwriter who has made a significant impact on the jazz world. Known for his soul-stirring sound and meticulously orchestrated compositions, he embodies the essence of past jazz luminaries, securing his place as a giant in contemporary jazz. As a chart-topping Billboard artist, Cooper's reputation as a musical powerhouse is well-established.
However, Cooper has now ventured beyond his jazz roots, delving into R&B writing and producing. His debut R&B release, "That Day," made an impressive entrance, landing at #34 on the R&B Indie charts during its first week. Remarkably, despite less than a full week of promotion, the record has sustained its position on the charts and continues to climb.
Cooper's musical journey began in his formative years in Portland, Oregon. Captivated by the enchanting melodies of jazz legends like George Duke and The Crusaders, he was drawn to the harmonies and colors brought to life by organists and pianists. This early exposure fueled a passionate love affair with jazz that continues to this day.
With unwavering dedication, Cooper pursued mastery in jazz, teaching himself music theory and the intricacies of reading sheet music. By 18, he had ascended to the role of the main organist and keyboardist at his local church, showcasing his talent to the world. At 21, Cooper co-founded the contemporary jazz band N-Touch, honing his songwriting skills. Their performances in jazz clubs and festivals garnered acclaim, propelling them to local stardom in the Portland area. Cooper's innate gift for songwriting distinguished him from his peers and drew the attention of industry professionals.
