Gëtte (also known as Kaiyla Gross) is R&B/Soul/Gospel singer – songwriter from Maryland. She is a current Artist in Residence for Strathmore. She utilizes a loop pedal to curate beats and her own BGVS. Gëtte says "I don't want you to just hear me, I want you to feel me." She grew up singing in church; however, she didn't truly begin her professional singing career until college. She has her BS in Exercise Science/ Kinesiotherapy from Norfolk State University. She is a current member of Actors Equity Association. You can find her performing in theatre productions all over the DMV. Gëtte enjoys bringing stories to life through music. Some of her influences include Jazmine Sullivan, Mary Mary, & Pj Morton. Through her art, Gëtte stands as a testament to the enduring power of love, the resilience of the human soul, and the profound ways in which music can heal even the deepest of wounds. Her versatility allows her to reach many different people in many ways. Expect to have a great time.
She is joined by Nouvèl. Nouvèl is an up and coming DMV based singer/songwriter with raw talent and a truly authentic sound, blending his take on R&B, hip-hop and soul. A self-taught musician, Nouvèl plays the piano while also focusing on his strongest instrument, his voice. His Haitian ancestry and upbringing stressed the importance of storytelling, which has influenced his biographical approach to songwriting and how he defines his artistry with the name “Nouvèl”. Aside from his Haitian heritage, Nouvèl also uses other life experiences to share his stories through song.
