Recorded on 5/5/22
Vocals: Katie Callahan
Pianist: Mark Domsic
Cellist: Thillman Benham
After waiting for half a year, Katie is eager to mark the release of her second full length record, The Water Comes Back, with this celebration concert. The album focuses on themes of faith transition, feminine identity and strength, and trusting in ebbs and flows as life presents them. Katie recorded this album with several of her music heroes, including producer Matthew Odmark of the band Jars of Clay and of Gray Matters Studio in Nashville, TN. She's joined by old friends Mark Domsic (multi-instrumentalist and composer) and Thillman Benham (cello), who have helped reimagine arrangements of these songs to be shared and celebrated in this intimate showcase.
Katie is a 30-something singer, songwriter, mother, and artist living in Baltimore. Her music is folksy and inspired by Americana and folk traditions and explores themes of spirituality, mental health, motherhood, and identity. Through her lyric-driven point of view, she tries to tell stories honestly and in a way that makes those who listen feel seen. She bakes her feelings, cries during commercials, and would rather be on the beach.
