While focusing on his own compositional voice, he draws inspiration from the great pioneers like John Coltrane, Joe Henderson, Wayne Shorter, as well as newer voices and sounds. Lucas recently performed at the Vail Jazz Festival in Colorado and Carnegie Hall in New York City. He is inspired by all forms of music including Indian Classical music, hip hop, Afro-Cuban, Western Classical, Brazilian, and more.
