Sarah Laven Jones
Sarah Laven Jones has been swinging and scatting her way into the heart of jazz lovers since 2005. She grew up singing jazz and playing piano with her musical family in Seattle, Washington; raised on vocal jazz icons such as Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan. In 2008 she was awarded Outstanding Jazz Vocalist at the University of Idaho Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival where she was able to share the stage with the late Jon Hendricks. Sarah went on to study vocal jazz and perform as the lead singer of Sarah 2 and the High School Varsity Athletes at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. Since moving to the DMV, Sarah has performed for a range of audiences at venues such as Mr. Henry's, JoJo's, Twins Jazz, Silver Strings, and Falls Church Distillery. A former Spanish teacher and tutor, Sarah enjoys singing to audiences in both Spanish and English.
