Rodney Stepp is no stranger to the music world or to the City of Indianapolis. Rodney’s music has expanded for over 59 years. Rodney has been all over the world with groups such as The Spinners, Sister Sledge and more. Rodney’s career began at 13 years old with The Diplomats, then went on to perform with groups such as Jazzie Cazzie & The Eight Sounds, Rapture and more. At the age of 14 Rodney co-wrote and recorded a song, Hum-Bug with The Diplomats. At 17 Rodney co-wrote and recorded Young Girl with Jazzie Cazzie. Rodney saw some success with a song BREAK-OUT in 1984 which hit the charts and is still being sampled and played all over the world to this day and is part of a compilation album on Soul Records in the UK.
Rodney founded Rodney Stepp & BSB and recorded his first album in 1997 entitled Steppin’ Out. In 2015 the second album was recorded entitled Second Chance with Rodney Stepp & The Steppin’ Out Band featuring Steve Cooper. Performing live, Rodney describes the sounds and the group as “Smooth Jazz With A Twist Of R&B” due to the versatility of the musicians.
Sunny Days is a new single released on AZ IZ Records by Rodney Stepp featuring Bryan Thompson, the saxophonist for the Babyface Band.
