Soul Trombonist Herm Hopkins, from The Washington DC area has performed and studied with the Great Saxophonist 'Arnold Sterling' for 15 years. Herm along side his great Mentor and Saxophone master Arnold Sterling opened up for the Great James Moody at the Left Bank Jazz society.
Herm worked with Roy Hargrove on his 2013 at ' Seoul Jazz Festival ' in Korea, He has also worked with some today's and yesterday’s great musicians such as Rusty Mason, Steve Novasel, Buck Hill, Keter Betts, Billy Smith, Butch Warren, Andy Ennis, Bill Byrd, Percy Smith, George V. Johnson, Johnny Polite, Eric Byrd, Lenny Robinson, Frankie Addison, Greg Hatza, Danny Brown, Wycliffe Gordon, Steve Turre, Muneer Nasser, Cocoran Holt, Donvonte McCoy, Herb Scott, Carrol Dashiel lll, Dana Hawkins, Herman Burney, Mclenty Hunter, Steve Novasel, Chris funn, Ameen Saleem and the list goes on. He also honorably served and performed, composed and arranged with The United States Army band for 12 years.
With his Soul-3-O, Soul-4-Sho, Super Sonic Soul Ensemble and Big Soul Band Herm continues to perform, at some of the greatest venues in the nation such as Blues Alley, Mr. Henry’s, Saint Vincent Wine, and many others Herm continues to arrange and compose music for various artists nationally and internationally. In return continually moving and Grooving great audiences all over with his Soul Trombone.
