"We are pleased to return to one of our favorite venues to perform in the Tri-State area, the world famous An die Musik LIVE! For this concert we have assembled a crack group consisting of my longtime colleague Kirk Reese on piano, Baltimore’s own giant on the bass, Blake Meister, and one of the young guns on the Baltimore jazz scene, Byung Kang on drums.
The Dave Wilson Quartet is a Contemporary Jazz group led by the noted tenor/soprano saxophonist, educator and composer to further and bring to fruition the music and vision of Dave Wilson, the artist. Defying categorization, the music is "what sounds good and can communicate with the audience on a deep level...it's jazz". Dave Wilson offers high caliber, compelling, contemporary live performances, featuring top notch nationally/internationally or regionally known personnel known for their exciting improvisations, creative individualistic compositions, and unique arrangements of standards. It has a very active performance schedule and is active and adept at presenting themselves on social media.
The Dave Wilson Quartet has seven great CDs out, with an eightth due in January. The new effort, When Even Goes East, features 10 songs, including four originals, and six unique covers of pop tunes: These Days (Jackson Browne), Eyes of the World (Grateful Dead), Adios (Jimmy Webb), The Fool on the Hill (Beatles), Fire (Jimi Hendrix), and Wichita Lineman (Jimmy Webb).
