Capitol Lab Band
The Capitol Lab Band was founded in 2016 and plays mostly original compositions and arrangements by band members and friends, plus high-energy charts by todays top bandleaders and occasional big band classics. In addition to regular performances at Mr. Henry’s, the Capitol Lab Band has performed on the National Mall and at Blues Alley. After a pandemic hiatus, we are resuming our tradition of original music. Our repertoire includes an entertaining mix of charts: swing, classic jazz, rock, funk, R&;B, and Latin jazz. As a ";laboratory"; band, we get together on a regular basis to woodshed and to encourage musicians and composers to try out their compositions and arrangements and to improvise in a musically cooperative and collaborative environment.
