In 1985, Kooken pursued a BA degree in Jazz/Commercial Performance on the guitar, graduating in 1987. During his college years, he had the honor of playing with the 1986 TSU Jazz Ensemble, directed by Hank Levy. Kooken's versatility shines through his collaborations.
