Poet Brandon Cohen-Long
Re-formed in 2024, Cellophane Kiss is a Bushwick-based alternative band consisting of Mackenzie Caron on vocals, keys, and guitar, Alec Logeman on drums, Eric Martin on bass, and Toby Youngman on lead guitar. Cellophane Kiss pull from diverse artists ranging from My Chemical Romance, Suede, David Bowie, Damon Albarn, and Scott Walker to create music that summons the decayed and haunted landscapes of New England. Their sound swings from snarling punk riffs to strained and understated balladry.
Brandie Zucker is a singer/songwriter with a disco pop style based in New York. Her musical influences include Michael Jackson, Madonna, ABBA, Beach House, and FKATWIGS. Brandie believes that music is the fastest way to heal the world and she’s excited to play a role in this evolution through the power of dance, sound, love, and connection. It is her mission to help people around the world who have had similar experiences as her in this challenging yet beautiful journey of life.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Ritz has been making music for eight years—starting out just to impress a middle school crush (it did not work but she found something better). Now, she is all about creating pop/rock tunes that hit hard and make you want to move, while capturing the emotional depth of experiences. For the last four years, she has been playing such noted venues as The Delancey, Bowery Electric, Berlin Under A, Brooklyn Music Kitchen, Heaven Can Wait. Her band keeps things fresh by switching instruments between songs—creating a show that is anything but average.
Brandon Cohen-Long is a Philadelphia-based poet who lived for a while in Brooklyn and hails from Long Island. Inspired by the works of Frank O’Hara, Richard Siken, Sylvia Plath, and more, Cohen-Long writes primarily about everyday life, trying to capture mundane moments and turn them into emotionally captivating poems. Aiming to make readers feel something through every work, Cohen-Long weaves his words carefully and intentionally to paint relatable pictures.
Hosted by former journalist Mike Geffner who founded InspiredWordNYC in March 2009.
