The Ambient Project is a Peabody founded, international award winning duo consisting of trumpet and piano. The group formed with the goal of creating ambient spaces with free improvisation. They have since received a silver medal from the International Trumpet Guild Recording Awards for their first album 'Duets Volume 1'. Join The Ambient Project
Josh Morris is a Maryland born jazz and contemporary trumpet player and composer, currently studying under Grammy-winner Sean Jones at the Peabody Institute. He co=leads The Ambient Project, a duo exploring contemporary jazz, textural improvisation, and freeform sonic landscapes. His composition Beltway was a 2024 WAMMIE Awards finalist for Jazz Song of the Year. He was a member of the University of North Texas Two O’Clock Lab Band as a freshman. In 2022, he performed with the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra in Joe Wilder: The Pretty Sound.
Other performance credits include JEN, the MidAtlantic Jazz Festival, Keystone Korner, and collaborations with Miguel Zenón, Randy Brecker, George Cables, and Jon Faddis.
