Vincent and Yang Gao will perform Schumann’s Cello Concerto in A minor and Haydn’s concerto in D major.
“The Schumann Concerto is a piece that has been a large part of my life since my childhood, and it is the reason I still play the cello. It’s a very sacred piece for me, and it holds a special, warm place in my heart. Haydn’s D major concerto is a much fresher, and newer piece for me, and learning it has been filled with joy, excitement, and discomfort. I intend to show two different sound worlds that completely contrast in style in character, but unite in their ability to show the singing, human, introspective aspect of the Cello” says Vincent Garcia.-Hettinger
