Mike Geffner’s Inspired Word, one of New York City’s most popular indie performance series, presents Mike Geffner’s 69th Birthday Music & Poetry Spectacular.
The night celebrates the birthday of InspiredWordNYC founder & producer and features a lineup of…
The Jolie Rose Band
Singer/Songwriter Assata
Poet Kelly Lynn Noll
Poet Alex Crowe
Special Guest Triad Theater Owner Peter Martin
Hosted by Singer NatraSin
The Jolie Rose Band is an uber talented group of teenaged musicians, founded and led by electrifying Triad veteran vocalist Jolie Rose. Imagine the soulful improvisation and technical brilliance of jazz meeting the raw energy and distorted power chords of rock. Add to that the infectious hooks and polished production of pop, paired with the heartfelt storytelling and emotional depth of blues. The band includes Jack Lopez on bass, Aiden Nicholas on guitar, Jonathan Pascal on drums, and Raymond on piano.
Assata is an 18-year-old singer/songwriter/music producer from Long Island who is making her 2nd appearance at the Triad Theater. She plays piano and guitar, and has been interested in music since she was very young as well as performing in showcases and plays. "I am looking to put my mark on the music industry and share my passion for music with everyone," she says.
Kelly Lynn Noll is a two-time Triad poet who now lives in Connecticut but was born and raised in Queens. Though a poet at heart, Kelly has also been involved in many theatre productions over the years, wearing many hats as a performer, director and producer. Some of her last shows ran at the Off-Broadway Comedy Club, and at Playwrights Downtown.
Alex Crowe is an ex-punk rocker turned spoken word poet, as well as the Poetry Coordinator for InspiredWordNYC. He has featured 27 times around New York City, including for the annual NYC Poetry Festival. He also hosts his own seasonal open mic called Crowe’s Nest Open Mic in the backyard of his house in Woodhaven, Queens. Alex hones his passion for lyricism to bring a visceral and honest performance from the page to stage without using a mic.
Peter Martin is the longtime owner of the Triad Theater.
NatraSin is a singer, songwriter and producer born and raised in the Bronx, who has been featuring and headlining shows all throughout the boroughs. Her musical style is a mix of pop, R&B and jazz. But she is an experimentalist willing to try any sound. Her inspirations include Frank Sinatra, The Weeknd, Ella Fitzgerald, and Billie Eilish. She recently released her first album titled “Gemini” available on all streaming platforms.
Former journalist Mike Geffner founded InspiredWordNYC in March 2009.
