Ensemble Zara

Zara is a new ensemble led by saxophonist and composer Sarah Hughes.  It includes saxophonist Bobby Muncy, violinist Jamie Sandel, french hornist Abram Wolfe Mamet, trombonist Patrick Crossland, bassist Steve Arnold, and drummer Joe Palmer.  Hughes' compositions provide structure for both conventional jazz improvisation as well as conceptual and collective improvisations by ensemble members.
