GET READY FOR AN EPIC NIGHT VOCALIST MS. GAVRI
"As an Up-and-Coming Artist, she’s making Billboard charts kind of music" is what you may say to yourself when you hear Miss Gavri on your playlist.
Gavrielle L. Sween, professionally known as Miss Gavri, is a sensational emerging talent from the DMV. A recording artist and songwriter, she is rapidly building a strong presence throughout the East Coast. She released her notable debut single, “Down Bad,” in February 2023, earning the title of “Best of America” in the R&B category at the Intercontinental Music Awards that same year. She followed up with the spicy hit single “Action” in October 2023, which secured her a performance slot at the 2HotRadio Showcase in Las Vegas during the 2024 Super Bowl LVIII season.
In February 2025, Miss Gavri released her debut album, Tales of an Emotional Pisces, which went on to win the 2026 Best Pop Album Award WAMMIES, further cementing her status as a rising star.
Miss Gavri’s love for music began before she could even speak. As a toddler, she hummed melodies she heard, and by the age of five, she began her formal musical journey in her home church choir. Shortly thereafter, she became a vocal and piano student at Ottley Music School. As she grew, she captivated audiences with both her vocal ability and stage presence, performing at school productions, talent shows, assemblies, sporting events, church services, weddings, and more.
By the age of 13, she was already teaching vocal and piano lessons with a production group while also participating in acting roles. Beginning in 2019, she performed locally and nationally as both a lead and backup vocalist in a Soca band for approximately three years, appearing at clubs, festivals, and major events before launching her solo career in 2022.
In 2022, Miss Gavri placed third in the DMV Talent Extravaganza produced by EAS Entertainment Group, an achievement that inspired her to elevate her career to the next level. She has since opened for Toni Romiti on her 10-city tour, performed in the House Party Immersive Tour curated by the late Gene Groove Allen, and delivered a powerful rendition of the national anthem at an Orioles game at Camden Yards, among many other notable appearances.
Miss Gavri’s passion for music is evident in her soulful sound and emotionally rich songwriting. Her mission is to connect with audiences worldwide, and she is well on her way to becoming a household name.
As versatile as she is dynamic, Miss Gavri draws inspiration from iconic artists such as Beyoncé, Rihanna, Whitney Houston, and Michael Jackson, along with Caribbean powerhouses like Bunji Garlin, Patrice Roberts, Machel Montano, Nadia Batson, and Shenseea.
Keep an eye on Miss Gavri—her rise is just beginning.
