D.D. Jackson is a Juno and two-time Emmy-winning (5x Emmy-nominated) composer/producer/ jazz pianist who has recorded 14 albums of mostly original music as leader or co- leader (including two for the major label BMG). He has performed, recorded, and toured around the world with diverse artists such as saxophonist David Murray, drummer Jack DeJohnette, and Questlove and Tariq Trotter of The Roots, and previously composed two jazz-influenced operas, including "Québécité" (based in part on the story of his African American father and Chinese mother). Beyond jazz, he composes for television shows and teaches at LIU Brooklyn, Brooklyn College's Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema, and soon at NYU's Screen Scoring faculty.
