Kenyatta is a radiant fusion of the many musical voices of the African Diaspora—where jazz, soul, gospel, Afrobeat, and beyond meet on one stage. Led by trumpeter and composer Cyrus "Cy" Mackey, the band draws on his wide-ranging experience in African American musical traditions to create a sound that feels both deeply rooted and boldly forward-looking. After a year of sold-out shows in Baltimore, Kenyatta has grown into a true community of music lovers, gathering around groove, improvisation, and shared joy.
